Study Visit Programme of the Postgraduate Diploma in Diplomatic Studies (Batch 1/2025)

As part of extra-curriculum activities, candidates of the Postgraduate Diploma in Diplomatic Studies (Batch 1/2025) from both Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw Sessions of the Myanmar Diplomatic Academy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, conducted a study visit to Swami Vivekanand Cultural Centre of the Embassy of India in Yangon. On 8 December 2025, H.E. Mr. Shri Abhay Thakur, Ambassador of India to Myanmar briefed on the concepts of Diplomacy and India-Myanmar bilateral relations. In addition, Mr. Shri Ashish Sharma, Deputy Chief of Mission, presented Human Resource Development, Cultural, Consular, Development Cooperation, and Economic & Cultural Cooperation followed by the Question and Answer Session. The Ambassador then hosted a lunch for the trainees featuring traditional Indian cuisine.
In the afternoon, the attendees visited the Department of International Relations and Political Science at the University of Yangon. The Head of Department, Prof. Win Mar Hlaing delivered a lecture entitled “Current Trends in International Relations: Changing Global Power Dynamics.” An interactive discussion session followed, during which trainees exchanged views on emerging conditions in international relations and evolving global political in multi-polarity. The programme concluded with a campus tour of the University of Yangon.
